Les rues sont un théâtre en constante évolution, où les acteurs sont les citoyens ordinaires, les bâtiments et les scènes de la vie quotidienne. Streets are a constantly changing theatre, where the actors are ordinary citizens, buildings and scenes of everyday life. It is in this section of my portfolio, called "Street View", that I have gathered a body of artistic photographs captured during my urban walks. From architectural photography to street photography to animated scenes of life, each image is a window into a unique moment of daily life. Each photograph has been chosen to convey a story and an emotion, and I am proud to share them with you. The photographs are also available for purchase for those who wish to keep them as permanent witnesses of urban life.

L’exposition Sommes-nous si différents ?
Je suis ravi de vous présenter l'exposition "Sommes-nous si différents? un appel à la réflexion", qui regroupe 22 photographies en couleur de grand format, capturées dans les moments les plus ordinaires de la vie des personnes vivant en marge de la société. Ces portraits ont été pris dans des endroits aussi divers que la rue Wellington à Sherbrooke, au Canada, en Europe et en Asie.
Marcel Morin, guidé par les questions fondamentales de l'humanité, est plus intéressé par les points communs qui unissent les gens que par les différences qui les séparent. Il souhaite que le public réfléchisse sur ces similitudes et sur notre propre perception des personnes marginalisées en observant ses photos, auxquelles il ajoute une mise en scène brève et des citations percutantes.
Il est important de souligner que monsieur Morin ne se contente pas de capturer le moment, il prend le temps d'établir un contact humain et chaleureux avec ses sujets. Il s'approche avec respect et ne force jamais la note, laissant chaque photo arriver à son rythme. Cette exposition est un appel à la réflexion sur notre propre humanité et sur notre capacité à voir les points communs qui nous relient les uns aux autres, plutôt que les différences qui nous séparent.
L'exposition “Sommes-nous si différents ?” a été présentée depuis 2019 dans plusieurs centre de diffusions, maison de la culture et musée, ici au Québec et en Chine.
Exhibition "Are We So Different?
I am delighted to present the exhibition "Are We So Different? A call for reflection," which features 22 large-format colour photographs captured in the most ordinary moments of life for those living on the margins of society. These portraits were taken in various places such as Wellington Street in Sherbrooke, Canada, Europe, and Asia.
Marcel Morin, guided by fundamental questions of humanity, is more interested in the commonalities that unite people than the differences that separate them. He hopes that the audience will reflect on these similarities and our own perception of marginalized people by observing his photos, which he adds brief staging and striking quotes to.
It is important to note that Mr. Morin does not simply capture the moment, he takes the time to establish a warm and human connection with his subjects. He approaches with respect and never forces the issue, allowing each photo to come to its own rhythm. This exhibition is a call for reflection on our own humanity and our ability to see the commonalities that connect us to each other, rather than the differences that separate us.
The exhibition "Are We So Different?" has been presented since 2019 in several diffusion centres, cultural centres and museums, in Quebec and China.

L’Inde et le Sri Lanka - La beauté d’un peuple
Je suis heureux de vous présenter cette série de soixante photographies, ainsi que l'exposition et le livre qui en ont découlé, fruit de mes expéditions photographiques en Inde, Sri Lanka et au Bangladesh. Ces trois pays ont été pour moi une source inépuisable d'inspiration et de découvertes, et j'ai eu l'opportunité de rencontrer et de photographier de nombreuses personnes incroyables au cours de mes voyages.
Loin d'être un simple reportage journalistique, cette série photographique est avant tout dédié à l'humain, à ces personnes que j'ai eu l'honneur de rencontrer, de découvrir leur histoire et de photographier. En utilisant ma photographie et les textes d’accompagnement, mon but est de faire ressortir les sentiments les plus profonds et la beauté intérieure de chaque personne que j'ai rencontrée sur mon parcours. Cet ouvrage est également un appel à la réflexion sur l'autre, sur ces personnes qui vivent souvent dans des conditions précaires, ainsi qu'à la réflexion sur nous-mêmes et sur la place et les responsabilités que nous devons assumer en tant qu'êtres humains.
Je vous invite donc à plonger dans ces pages et à découvrir l'humanité sous toutes ses facettes, à travers les yeux de mes photographies et des textes qui les accompagnent. India and Sri Lanka - The Beauty of a People
I am happy to present this series of sixty photographs, as well as the exhibition and book that resulted from it, the fruit of my photographic expeditions in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. These three countries have been an endless source of inspiration and discovery for me, and I have had the opportunity to meet and photograph many amazing people during my travels.
Far from being just a journalistic report, this photographic series is above all dedicated to humanity, to these people whom I had the honour of meeting, and discovering their stories and photographs. Using my photography and accompanying texts, my goal is to bring out the deepest feelings and inner beauty of each person I met on my journey. This work is also a call for reflection on the other, on these people who often live in precarious conditions, as well as a reflection on ourselves and the place and responsibilities we must assume as human beings.
I, therefore, invite you to dive into these pages and discover humanity in all its facets, through the eyes of my photographs and the texts that accompany them. You will discover unique and moving stories that will take you on a journey through these countries and introduce you to different cultures and ways of life. I hope this photographic series will touch you as much as it touched me when I met all these wonderful people and inspire you to open up to others and reflect on your place and responsibilities in this world.

Sherbrooke noir et blanc
L’espoir
Au fil des ans, la ville de Sherbrooke a été l’objet de nombreux projets artistiques. En effet, il ne manque pas d’études, de recherches de toutes sortes, de livres sur la Reine des Cantons de l’Est.
Toutefois, voici un projet inusité : une exposition de photos en noir et blanc sur Sherbrooke doublée de réflexions citoyennes sur le thème déterminé par l’initiateur, l’espoir. Le projet diffère de tous les autres déjà présentés puisqu’il fera appel à la collaboration de diverses personnalités de la Ville. Cette complicité est l’objectif premier de l’idéateur de ce projet, Marcel Morin. Il ne suffit pas, en ce qui le concerne, de présenter son point de vue par le biais de sa caméra, mais d’aller recueillir le point de vue de cinquante Sherbrookoises et Sherbrookois provenant de différentes sphères du milieu (politique, éducation, culture, affaires, sport, etc.). Joindre les mots aux photos, c’est ce qu’il souhaite profondément.
Selon Marcel Morin, l’œil de la caméra ne capte pas tout : il oriente le regard vers une direction souvent insoupçonnée, il propose un angle d’observation singulier, suggère plutôt que d’imposer. Ici et là, des pierres anciennes, une école de quartier, les eaux tumultueuses de la Magog, des enseignes qui ont traversé le temps, etc. Chaque souvenir contient un espoir; chaque jour aussi. Tout l’espace de ce projet est entièrement consacré au jeu de l’interprétation…
Sherbrooke black and white
Hope
Over the years, the city of Sherbrooke has been the subject of many artistic projects. Indeed, there is no shortage of studies, research of all kinds, and books on the Queen of the Eastern Townships.
However, here is an unusual project: an exhibition of black and white photos on Sherbrooke coupled with citizen reflections on the theme determined by the initiator, hope. The project differs from all the others already presented since it will call upon the collaboration of various personalities of the City. This complicity is the primary objective of the initiator of this project, Marcel Morin. It is not enough for him to present his point of view through his camera, but to collect the point of view of fifty Sherbrooke residents from different spheres (politics, education, culture, business, sports, etc.). Joining words to photos is what he deeply wishes.
According to Marcel Morin, the eye of the camera does not capture everything: it directs the gaze in an often unsuspected direction, it proposes a singular angle of observation and suggests rather than imposes. Here and there, old stones, a local school, the tumultuous waters of the Magog, signs that have stood the test of time, etc. Every memory contains hope; every day too. The whole space of this project is entirely devoted to the game of interpretation...

Parcours Photo de Sherbrooke
Édition 2020 - 2021
“Humain d'ici et d’ailleurs"
J'ai eu l'honneur de participer au Parcours Photo de Sherbrooke, sous le thème Humain d'ici et d'ailleurs. L'exposition mettait en vedette 10 de mes photographies humanistes prises lors de mes voyages en Inde, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Thaïlande et Chine. Les oeuvres présentées ont été choisies pour leur capacité à inciter à la réflexion sur les conditions de vie précaires de certains individus dans ces pays.
Cette exposition, sous la tutelle du Musée des Beaux Arts de Sherbrooke, le Comité Arts et Culture Jacques-Cartier et la Ville de Sherbrooke, a eu lieu de septembre 2020 à septembre 2021.
J'espère que cette exposition à permis de faire ressortir l'humanité qui vit dans des conditions précaires et d'inciter à la réflexion sur les inégalités sociales et économiques dans le monde. Je vous invite à venir découvrir mon travail et à vous laisser émouvoir par les histoires que ces photographies racontent.

I had the honour of participating in the Sherbrooke Photo Journey, under the theme “Humans from here and the world”. The exhibition featured 10 of my humanistic photographs taken during my travels to India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Thailand, and China. The works presented were chosen for their ability to encourage reflection on the precarious living conditions of some individuals in these culturally diverse countries.
This exhibition, under the supervision of the Sherbrooke Fine Arts Museum, the Jacques-Cartier Arts and Culture Committee and the City of Sherbrooke, took place from September 2020 to September 2021.
I hope that this exhibition helped to highlight the humanity that lives in precarious conditions and encouraged reflection on social and economic inequalities in the world. I invite you to come to discover my work and let yourself be moved by the stories these photographs tell.
